MUHAMMAD ALI FIGHT ROBE FROM FOREMAN FIGHT A significant robe worn by Muhammad Ali when he walked in the ring for his historic October 30, 1974 championship fight against George Foreman in Kinshasa, Zaire. Ali won this fight in dramatic fashion with an eighth round knockout. He had waited seven years to become heavyweight champion once again, and today considers this fight to have meant the most to him. The white cloth, calf-length robe with black trim is decorated with African patterns and elaborate beadwork. It was created by two New York designers and Ali fans, whose manufacturer's tag, Christopher Lynch & Mr. Fish For The Greatest Zaire-September 24th, 1974 , is sewn on the inside. On the back of the robe, the name Muhammad Ali is stitched in two-tone black beads. The white cloth sash is stitched with white and black beads at both ends. The robe's body and arms are sewn with heavy black, white and off-white detailed patterns. The interior is lined with a heavy cloth decorated with an ornate white and blue design featuring Muhammad Ali's name throughout. The robe has light soiling but the beadwork is completely intact and in excellent condition. Letter of authenticity from Muhammad Ali.
