Muller, of the Royal Academy of Petersburgh. With the addition of three new maps...By Thomas Jefferys. London: for T. Jefferys 1761. 4to, contemporary mottled calf gilt, red morocco spine label, modern quarter brown morocco gilt case by H.C. Fehr, upper joint with 1 1/2-inch split at top, corners worn, slight worming to extreme lower blank margins, a single very slight tear to each folding map, the first map also creased at central fold and with small fold tear at center, some offsetting to folding maps. First Edition in English, 4 engraved maps, 2 of them large, folding and handcolored in outline, the last map "A Map of Canada" dated 1762. Müler's complete account of the Bering expedition and of the Russian discoveries in the region was first published in Sammlung Russischer Geschichte (St. Petersburgh 1758, vol. 3).
