by Lewis Carroll West Hatfield: Pennyroyal Press, 1982. Folio. 92 wood engravings by Moser. Includes 5 original drawings by the artist. Printed in 5 colors. Folio. Full burgundy morocco gilt; folding linen case. the “artist’s copy,” being one of perhaps 30 from a total edition of 350, the present copy includes two signed pencil and three signed ink drawings, the latter on separate sheets. The pencil drawings are “The Lion” on the dedicatory leaf and “The Unicorn” on the colophon. Full page ink drawings based on illustrations from the book are “The Red Queen,” “The White Queen” and “Humpty Dumpty.” A separate cloth folder contains a complete set of the engravings, each initialed by the artist. The text includes the once suppressed “The Wasp in a Wig.
