Morton (Sir Albertus).- Petrarca (Francesco) Il Petrarcha con la Sposipione di Giovanni Andrea Gesualdo , 2 parts in 1, both tiles within elaborate woodcut architectural borders, incorporating portraits of Petrarch and Laura, I Trionfi with large woodcuts within text, woodcut historiated initials, A.L.s. from Sir Albertus Morton bound in at start, water-staining to end of part 1 and all of part 2, modern red crushed morocco, [Adams P820; EDIT 16 CNCE 27048], 4to, Venice, Domenico Giglio , 1553. ⁂ A good association copy. Sir Albertus Morton (c.1584-1625), secretary to Sir Henry Wotton, ambassador to Venice and later Turin in the early 17th century. Wotton was Morton's father's half-brother. In the letter Morton asks an identified noble for an audience for two seemingly exiled authors
