The first four are made out to H.K Whitney and SIGNED BY BRIGHAM YOUNG, countersigned by Thomas Bullock and Heber C. Kimball and with the embossed seal of the Twelve Apostles. Two $50 notes of capital stock, signed by George Miller, president of the Association and John Snider, secretary. Nauvoo, IL: E. Robinson, endorsed 11 February 1847. Wood engraved ornament at left with standing eagle and woodcut illustration of "Nauvoo House" at top, the first numbered "10" and the second "16". Each approximately 63 x 175 mm, upper right corners clipped as usual. One device employed to avoid the banking problems encountered when the Mormons were in Ohio was to camouflage the banking function by issuing paper money as shares in the Nauvoo House Association.
