On both volumes appear corrections and markings handwritten by Yehudah Even-Shmuel who also notes at the beginning of each of the volumes “the corrections and notes in this copy are mine”. Yehudah Even-Shmuel (Kaufman, 1886-1976), winner of the Israel Prize for Jewish Studies for the year 1973 and winner of the Rabbi Kook Prize for Biblical Studies, 1959; translated into Hebrew the “Kuzari” and composed a comprehensive commentary on The Guide for the Perplexed, up to the first part of Part Three
