A one-page autograph letter written in turquoise ink, on pale blue paper headed: 'From: Field Marshall The Viscount Montgomery of Alamein ... Chateau de Courance, Milly, Seine-et-Oise, France,' dated, "15 May 1951," stating, "Dear Mr Bamfield, I would like to thank you for the efficient and courteous mammer[sic] in which you handle at Odiham my visits to Continental Europe. My duties as Deputy Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, keep me constantly travelling by air; your kindly consideration makes my journeys less of a burden than they would otherwise be. Thank you, Yrs. sincerely, Montgomery of Alamein, F.M." (240 x 185mm.), framed and glazed. With The Memoirs of Field-Marshal Montgomery of Alamein, K.G.
