MONROE, Marilyn. Studio Portrait, 8 x 10 in., black and white, gloss finish. Full-on Marilyn in skimpy corset and fishnets. Fabulous inscription, signature, and backstory. Mounting remnants on verso which unfortunately incorporate a tear in the portrait with very minor paper loss, and with no effect on the three-line inscription and signature, beautifully drawn in green ink. Some foxing and other minor problems, but still a great image. "To Alan, alias Alfred! Its [sic] a pleasure to work with you -- Love & Kisses Marilyn Monroe " Alan Craig was the stage name of Alfred Dimente who landed a number of smaller parts over the years, including a role as a dancer in There's No Business Like Show Business . Like nearly everybody else, he had a thing for Marilyn, and one day on the set made a bet with a friend that he could go right up to her and she would give him a kiss. And so he did. As Al tells it, in a quiet moment he whispered in her ear "I can't understand how people get paid to be in a movie where they get to kiss you." To which Marilyn responded "how sweet of you," and she kissed him. Monroe, Marilyn
