Full crushed red levant morocco by Bedford, gilt extra, gilt dentelles, gilt edges. Condition : lacks first blank, title remargined on upper edge not affecting the woodcut typographical border, first leaf of dedication with minor repair in upper gutter, scattered minor spotting; upper joint tender. Provenance : Mrs. John Ross Delafield (label on front-free endpaper). This third edition in English considerably expands the first complete edition of 1580. The Seconde Parte of this Booke… of the things brought from our Occidentall Indias contains woodcuts of the Sassafras tree, information on the herb "nicotaine," ginger, rhubarb, a cut of a long pepper and another of an armadillo.
