.54 caliber, 8.5" barrel. Left side of barrel stamped at breech U.S./NWP/P. Left flat of barrel with sub-inspector's initial W. Lockplate stamped U.S. /R. Johnson Middn Conn/1837. Walnut stock with military cartouches. Condition: Barrel has a nice light patina mixed with heavy salt and pepper pitting. Front barrel band, trigger guard, buttcap and swivel rammer with heavy pitting and light brown look. Lockplate appears to be original flint. Lockplate has light to moderate pitting with dark aging. Brass pan with green verdigris and visible sub-inspector's initial on bottom of pan. A very nice US martial flintlock in attic condition.
