"I" stands for Ivory grips, six-shot, all matching, stagecoach hold-up scene engraved on the cylinder, action indexes crisply. Brass backstrap and trigger guard. Complete with factory ivory grips. This pistol is known to have belonged to Capt. John P. Ellis, a pre-Civil War New York militia officer. His presentation sword and archive, and a percussion target rifle by Lewis are offered separately in this auction. Condition: Good. Bore with light oxidation and strong rifling. Even age gray finish. Light traces of case colors on the frame and hammer; traces of silver finish on the grip frame. Grips have minor age yellowing and a few cracks on the bottom.
