Nearly complete boxed set titled World War Through the Stereoscope: Vol. I, made up of 48 curved mount Keystone stereoviews numbered 1-50 (5 & 7 missing), featuring scenes of World War I significance, including soldiers learning to use gas masks, soldiers inhabiting trenches across Europe, wounded soldiers in a Belgian hospital, President Wilson addressing Congress, a wrecked zeppelin, the Cathedral at Reims, an American flag flying over Ehrenbreitstein Fortress on the Rhine, and many others. Housed in box. 37 curved mount Keystone stereoviews, most of which include printed captions on recto and detailed subject descriptions on verso. Diverse subjects include people, wildlife, structures, and landscapes from around the world. Examples include a family outside of their home in Norway, an Arab woman in Algeria, a woman and children in a Zulu hut in South Africa, black bears in Yellowstone National Park, elephants in Ceylon, penguins on Dassen Island, sacred monkeys at Galta, a volcanic eruption in Java, the Great Wall of China, the Chukiang River, a Japanese shoe shop, and many more.
