VG+ (4.5). Some light rubs to spine, stress lines to right of vertical "MYSTERY" sidebar, staples a bit pulled, tiny nicks at spine ends, small crease to bottom corner of front cover, a few tiny edge nicks to front cover, slightly larger edge nicks to back cover, small spot (ink?) to top edge of back cover and some pages (possibly a distributor's mark), bottom corner of back cover bumped, pencil impression to back cover ("Peterson 50"). Off-white pages. Clean and press to 5.0? Cover: Bernard Baily. Art: Ed Smalle, Vince Fodera, Tony Mortellaro, A.C. Hollingsworth?, Hy Fleishman. Overstreet: "'Living Dead' junkie story." CGC Census: 14 graded copies. GPAnalysis: No sales in this grade since 2013; no sales in any grade since 2017. Only four recorded sales in any grade, the highest-graded sale being a 5.5 that sold for $575 in 2017. Drug ish: one guy mainlines heroin while another gets stoned the old-fashioned way (by gazing at Medusa's head). "Issue #15 has a rather graphic junkie story, entitled 'Living Dead.' Told in the second person, a narrative voice which Gillmor uses almost as often as EC, the story is a simple and moving sermon on the evils of drugs.... The junkie ends up permanently paralyzed in the classic 'living dead' condition. The authorities, not caring too much about an apparently overdosed junkie, consign him quickly to a cheap wooden coffin and bury him alive!" — George Suarez, Tales To Terrible To Tell #9. NEC: 1993, p. 19. A deluxe limited edition of 12 hardcover catalogues is available, in addition to a small number of softcovers. 400 lots, fully illustrated. Fun reference, great keepsake. Softcover $40, deluxe hardcover with dust jacket and limitation plate $200. Eight of the 12 hardcovers are pre-ordered and the rest will go quickly, so reserve yours now.
