Beschreibung:

Lot of 46, includes: Autographed silver gelatin print of W. C. Fields, 8 x 10 in. (including border), inscribed in ink, "To Anna Platt Jr. from her / sweet heart / Bill Fields." Rockefeller, John D. (1839-1937). TLS, 1p, approx. 8 x 10.25 in., "Kijkuit / Pocantico Hills / New York." June 7, 1921. Addressed to "Mrs. Inscho." Rockefeller informs Mrs. Inscho that he is sending her a "token in memory of my delightful call last week," and expresses his regret over being in such a hurry that the two were unable to speak again before his departure. Mathematics ledger, 136pp., approx. 7.5 x 11.25 in., including mathematics definitions, word problems, and equations. One page is fully separated from ledger binding. (3) Tintypes of groups including two images featuring a pair of well-dressed ladies and one image featuring two ladies and one man, all dressed in fine clothing. 40 photographs including numerous cabinet cards, most of which are credited to New York photographers. Photographs feature portraits of men, women, and children. A few of the photographs feature subjects identified as members of the Inscho family, including "Flora" (perhaps the "Mrs. Inscho" referred to in Rockefeller's letter), "Jesse," and "Albert." Condition: Photographs in varying but overall good condition. Letter with discoloration at edges, creasing, and a few tears (Rockefeller signature dark and bold). Ledger rather worn, with many pages partially separated from binding and/or ripped/torn/brittle at edges/corners.
