Contemporary red straight-grained morocco gilt, covers with wide decorative border tooled with wide fillets and an elaborate roll, surrounding the centrally-placed ARMS OF EMPEROR FRANCIS I OF AUSTRIA, the flat spine in seven compartments, lettered in the second, the others with repeat overall tooling, g.e. (light scuffing to extremities, upper joint slightly split). A interesting this series of engravings of measured drawings of the interior and exterior of the Duomo in Milan. The title and text call for 35 plates; the present copy has an additional plate, illustrating pilasters.
