Mounted chromolithographed frontispiece, 8 mounted photographic plates, and 12 photogravures; 3 folding maps. xx, 404 pages. 4to, 250x178 mm, original cloth by Leighton Son and Hodge, with their ticket, light wear, spine ends rubbed; contemporary owner's signature on half-title, foxing on fore edges slightly showing internally, all but 2 of the gravure plates browned in upper and outer margins.
