Includes references to the Limantour case (in which forged land grants were used to claim title to properties in the San Francisco area). This pamphlet includes written testimony of witnesses who could give evidence about the historical uses of Yerba Buena Island (including the statement of J.A. Sutter). Other statements refer to the history of occupation of Yerba Buena Island by the government and by Dowling. Quite rare. This edition not in Cowan.
