Florence: Heirs of Filippo I Giunta, April 1519 Scarce edition, based on the Aldine edition published a year earlier. 8vo (158 x 95 mm). Italic type, 30 lines plus headline. collation: a-z8 &8 ꙅ8 X8 A-B8: 224 leaves, foliated. Woodcut device on final verso. (Scattered foxing.) binding: Contemporary brown Bolognese morocco (165 x 105 mm), by the S. Petronio Binder (Hobson, "Bookbinding in Bologna"), three blind fillets around sides, rectangular frame composed of single gilt fillet flanked by three blind fillets, miter to fillets around sides, in center a gilt cupid surrounded by gilt leafy tendrils to form a lozenge-shaped cartouche with trefoil at four sides, above and below PONPONIVS* [sic] and *MELA* in gilt, and an pomegranate tool at inner angles, traces of four pairs of ties, spine with raised bands in four compartments with saltires in blind, plain edges stained blue.
