Meissen Porcelain Plate 19th century Diameter 10 inches. C
appears to be in generally good condition; no apparent hairline cracks, rim chips, etc., to the porcelain body; similarly, no apparent losses to the porcelain body in the reticulated border area; the blank may date to the 18th or more likely to the 19th century, however, it was likely originally undecorated and simply clear glazed and not gilt; the painted decoration and gilding appear to be later and added over the glaze perhaps during the late 19th century; there are some minor flake or rubbing losses to some of the painted decoration, i.e., notably, within the area of one of the scenic reserves; not of great consequence; no apparent scratch marks to the plate's center; not blacklighted; some wear/rubbing/dulling to the gilding, consistent with age, handling and usage; the crossed swords mark is underglaze on the reverse side
