WWII & Post-WWII Second World War Medal group awarded to one 14472116 Sergeant Wallace John Chapman of 9 Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers. The medal group comprising; WWII Defence Medal, WWII War Medal, QEII General Service Medal with Canal Zone & Cyprus clasps, Suez Canal Zone medal, and National Service Medal 1939-1960. Also includes: his Allied Special Forces medal and Cadet Forces Medal ( both not in frame). Along with the official set of miniatures. All with original ribbons. Also includes a duplicate General Service Medal, Defence Medal and War Medal mounted on bar (these medals are presumed to be his 'wearing' set, whilst the framed set are his 'display' set). Personal effects from Chapman include his Soldier's Service & Pay Book, his Regular Army Certificate Of Service, boxes for some of the medals in the frame, his original George VI cap badged maroon Airborne uniform beret with parachute badge, and a later beret with George VI cap badge, and an Airborne related teddy bear in typical uniform. A hallmarked silver Masonic medal and another similar example (not silver) are also included. Consigned from family. Chapman served in the Gloucester Home Guard from 1943 until he became of age, when he then signed up to the General Service Corps in August 1945. For his work in the Home Guard he was issued the Defence Medal, and for his Army work he was awarded the War Medal. He saw active service in the Suez Canal Zone from 1951-53. His Certificate of Service shows he was discharged on 22nd August 1957.
