MARVEL TALES No. 112 Author: Place: Publisher: Atlas-Marvel Date: March, 1953 Description: VG- (3.5). An otherwise solid copy with top corner of cover and first pages folded down; chips to some pages at top edge and corner; dusty soiling to "M" in logo and back cover. Page edges tanned. Stan Lee scripts. Cover art by Bill Everett. Art by Russ Heath Possible Howard Nostrand story. Atlas was the most prolific publisher of pre-Code horror, producing over 25% of all pre-Code horror comics, more than the next three most prolific companies combined. EC is often credited with kickstarting the horror trend in comics, but Atlas started publishing horror months before EC, with three ongoing horror mags on the stands in mid-1949, when EC had none.
