.44 caliber. 6" barrel length. SN: 16055. Double-action brown patina overall with traces of blue in hammer recess, one-piece wood grips with cartouches to both sides. Percussion double-action revolver with screw retained hinged frame. Right frame marked STARRS PATENT JAN 15 1856 with left frame marked STARR ARMS. CO. NEW YORK. Item shows B inspector initial to butt, barrel, upper, and lower frame, with twin B marks to cylinder. W2 mark to hammer recess. JG monogram to forward frame. Cartouches include CSL mark of Major Charles S. Lowell to right side and GKC of George K. Charter to left grip. Condition: Very Good. Bore is a brown patina throughout with sharp rifling. Overall metal finish is a gray patina to frame and brown patina to barrel, cylinder, and topstrap. Grips show handling wear, mars, and indentations to butt, but retain strong cartouches. Marks on item strong and legible. Action times and indexes correctly but is sluggish due to old lubricants in action.
