Collation: a-h8 i6 k-z A-C8 D E6 (a1r blank, a1v privilege, a2r text, E5v colophon, E6r register, E6v blank). 218 leaves (a2.7 possibly supplied); quires c and e transposed. 52 lines of commentary surrounding text. Types: 3:112R, 4:90R, 84Gka. 2-, 3- and 5-line initials and paragraph marks in red; ?17th-century foliate extension and border in red, green and yellow on a2 and a4, respectively. (Fos. a2.7 lightly soiled at upper margin, single wormhole in first quire, occasional faint stain.) 19th-century panelled russia tooled in gilt and blind, gilt edges (repairs at hinges and corners). Provenance : some early marginal or interlinear annotations, extensive annotation on verso of final leaf and on early vellum flyleaves retained at end -- Livio Ambrogio (bookplate). Thomas de Blavis printed four editions in 1476 and 1477 and then was not heard of until 1481. His second press remained active for 10 years, producing about 34 editions, preponderantly of classical literature.
