Marinetti, Filippo Tommaso I Paroliberi Futuristi.1914-1915. Unique corrected proofs, for an anthology that remained unpublished. Proofs with autograph corrections, 8 printed pages. (approximately 33.5 x 22.2 or 33 x 21 cm). The pages are numbered by Marinetti in blue pencil; six pages contain autograph corrections in black ink. These compositions by Marinetti were intended for the anthology I paroliberi Futuristi, scheduled for publication in February 1915 (see lot 16), which was to have given international recognition to the new visual poetry promoted by the Futurists. Italy's entry into the war two months later delayed the publication of the book. Several plates already composed by Buzzi, Cangiullo, Rognoni, Pasqualino, etc. appeared in publications such as L'Italia Futurista, Vela latina, etc. In August 1918, its publication - now under the title Poeti e paroliberi Futuristi - was once again considered, and the collection even seemed to be completed in September 1918, yet it never materialised: “As the conflict drew to a close, new directions in paroliberist research led Marinetti to abandon the publication of this work, which would undoubtedly have brought international recognition to Futurist poetry.” (G. Lista, Qu’est-ce que le Futurisme ?, p. 712). In 1919, when Breton and Soupault published extracts from Les Champs magnétiques (The Magnetic Fields), Marinetti decided to publish Les Mots en liberté Futuristes (Futurist Words-in-freedom) in French to establish the primacy of his process. (id, p. 713). Several of these pages were used in other paroliberist compositions: in 1915 for the Parole, Consonanti, Vocali, Numeri in Libertà leaflet [1, 2 and 7], in 1923 for Santa Unica torturata da Santa Velocità e Santa Simultaneità [4].
