About Marianne Hendriks, Lives and works in Amsterdam 1987 Marianne Hendriks is a Dutch artist, born and raised in Amsterdam. She was deaf for the first three and half years of her life, this made her incredibly reliant and aware of her surroundings. With the backlog of learning she felt like an outsider, incredibly shy and nervous. Drawing became a big element of her daily life from a very young age. Marianne started out studying design and architecture at St.Martins in London. She feels that architecture is strongly connected to learning and understanding nature in a very purposeful way. Her career path after graduating is very diverse, rather than choosing a straight career path, she consciously has chosen to be out of her comfort zone. Working for and with diverse clients, learning and developing herself in the creative industries. Marianne started to paint in 2016, at the age of thirty in London and very quickly decided that she wanted to dedicate all her time and effort towards painting. She started to learn and practice the techniques of the Dutch Old Masters, this is also a great influence in her work. Marianne continues to develop herself as a self defined artists. Craft and technique is at the core of her work. She has a real hunger for study and continues to work with specialists to develop her work. Marianne's art is explorative and very playful, referring to symbology and interpretation. She sees her work as constantly moving and likes to be in the moment when she creates her work, which gives her work enormous focus. Her work is very personal and intimate, she sees her art work as thoughts that are captured. Marianne's art career has flourished very quickly. Published in Vogue Living and the New York Times. She collaborates and is represented by clients all over the world. Her work is part of several great private and public collections such as Soho House.
