MAP-AUSTRALASIA] DONCKER, HENDRICK. Nova Totius Terrarum Orbis Tabula . Amsterdam: Hendrick Doncker [1688-1697]. 21 1/4 x 24 3/4 inches (53.5 x 62.5 cm); extensively hand-colored. Trimmed within the plate, almost to the neatline, toned, an old crease at lower left, two small tears with loss in the upper margin, one just entering a blank portion of the map. Doncker's map used the copper plate prepared by De Wit which he acquired in 1676. In this version, first printed 1688, he added the outline of the known coast of New Zealand, so this map reflects Australasia to the extent it was mapped as of that year. Shirley World 475. C
