Morris’s MSS of his works…”, also discussing the work of other scholars on Chaucer projects; the sale of Hodson’s books and manuscripts in 1906 “Why was [it] hurried on so, & no time left for catalogue to circulate in America?”; Emery Walker’s happiness at the success of the Doves Press “The reprint of Mackail’s penny lecture on Wm. Morris at 15s, 350 copies, was subscribed twice over, so that 350 more were printed.”[These figures do not tally with any other records of the publication]; sitting for a portrait by Rothenstein; and sending a motto he has found “Art is man’s nature; Nature is God’s art; Eternal, this; that temporal”, folded, ten with envelopes.
