Title: Manuscript plat map, deed, abstract of title, and related documents pertaining to the sale of land in Santa Barbara Author: Place: Los Angeles Publisher: Date: 1904 Description: Includes: Manuscript map on drafting linen, showing land bounded by Pueblo, Garden, Los Olivos and Santa Barbara Streets, with smaller scale map showing location of the property. 40x62 cm. Indenture deed for the sale of the land by the Roman Catholic Bishop of Monterey and Los Angeles to Edwin Hale Abbot, lawyer and railroad executive, of Cambridge, Mass. Abstract of title to the property (the title was deemed "not altogether unquestionable." Plus a few related documents. Lawyer and railroad executive Edwin Hale Abbot (1834-1927), who already had a fine mansion in Cambridge, seems to have desired a secondary domicile in sunnier climes. Lot Amendments Condition: Overall very good. Item number: 275352a
