MANUSCRIPT] "Pedigree of the Ancient and Knightley Family of Drew of Devonshire, the lineal descendants of Draga or Dra, a noble Norman, son of Walter de Ponz, and brother of Richard, ancestor of the noble family of Clifford, who accompanied William the Conqueror into England," a 77-page illustrated manuscript genealogy by William Betham on parchment, dated 1840, 2° (470 x 300mm.), including 24 original pen, ink and watercolour vignettes, most of knights on horseback engaged in jousting, hunting or fighting, and with numerous coats of arms, many hand-coloured and heightened in gilt, finely-bound in 19th-century straight-grained plum morocco gilt (inner hinges weak), contained in velvet-lined wood box with hinged lid and small mounted brass centrepiece.
