Height 8 5/8 inches. Uncrazed. As to what glaze name we should give this vase: I think Modeled Mat would be appropriate but the extraordinary colors used speak to me of Painted Mat. Looking at Burt’s “2,292 Pieces of Early Rookwood Pottery in the Cincinnati Art Museum in 1916,” we see pieces from 1900 listed in both categories including a 909 C form modeled by ARV and done in mat colors.
