The vase is typical of Matt Morgan design with two large handles joint body to rim and a border of embossed Moresque patterns encircling the shoulder. The decoration is typical of Daly’s later work at Rookwood with a scene of birds foraging and birds in flight on a panel around the body. Marks include impressed “Matt Morgan Art Pottery Co.” and incised M.A.D. Height 15 1/2 inches. Amazing original condition with the handles intact and still retaining their fired on gold trim.
