Richardson.), with named card boxes of issue Bronze Memorial Plaque 'George Hugh Richardson', extremely fine with letter of condolence from Buckingham Palace and original packaging, a fine calligraphic MC citation, 3 black and white photographs of the recipient's grave plus letter of condolence from the War Office dated 27 January 1919 and typed citation from the War Office (Quantity: 4) M.C. London Gazette 6 April 1918 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in command of his company after the company commander had been killed. On seeing men of another unit retiring, he rallied them and pressed into defence.' Captain George Hugh Richardson was born at the Vicarage, Poulton-Le-Fylde, Lancashire, he served on the Western Front with the Royal Fusiliers (Private) from 14 November 1915 he was commissioned on 4 August 1916 in the 22nd Bn Manchester Regiment (2nd Lieutenant before rising to Captain) moving to the Italian Front. Richardson was killed in action during the Battle of Vittorio Veneto on 29 October 1918. Richardson is buried in the Tezze British Cemetery, Italy.
