Important early scholarly study of the bishops of Maastricht and Liège, the saints of Limburg and Loon , the Tungri etc., by the Limburg Jesuit G. Henschenius (Venray 1601 - Antwerp 1681), an early collaborator of Bollandus for the Acta Sanctorum. The present work was included in the Acta Sanctorum (VII, May) in a revised version. Woodcut mark on title. Presentation inscription "dono auctoris" tot the Brussels Jesuits ; later in the famous collection of J.Fr. Vandevelde (name on flyleaf). Ref. DBS I:1651-52:1 & IV:282:1. STCV.
