(M) LOT OF 10: COLLECTION OF HARRY SANFORD AMT LIGHTNING PISTOLS.

Schätzpreis
2.000 $ - 3.000 $
Zuschlagspreis:
n. a.
Beschreibung:

Harry Sanford was the original founder and owner of the Arcadia Machine & Tool company, who famously produced the AMT AutoMag and the AMT Lightnings. Lightnings became increasingly popular for the developing sport of Silhouette shooting, which Sanford was a strong proponent of, serving as a match organizer. He arranged for a set of ten receivers and three trigger groups that he experimented with to determine which models would need to be produced based on sights, barrel length, chamber depth, etc.. This is nine of those guns, with the tenth gun being a replacement. Pistols without scopes have adjustable rears, all pistols have fixed front sights. They are as follows: (A) G-G-21024, complete pistol, Lightning logo receiver markings, with a Bausch and Lomb 4x28 sight in AMT rings on a grooved receiver and 16 - 1/2" tapered barrel. Believed to be the only 16 - 1/2" tapered barrel made. (B) G-00416, receiver only, Lightning logo receiver markings, 10 - 1/2" tapered barrel, with Leupold M-8 4x extended eye relief scope. (C) G-003223, complete pistol, 10 - 1/2" bull barrel, receiver with Arcadia Machine & Tool Markings, mounted with a Bushnell Centurion in Weaver 1" rings on grooved receiver. Magazine heel release has a hole cut in it, now filled with a plastic screw. (D) G-00697, receiver only, Arcadia Machine and Tool markings on receiver, grooved receiver. (E) G-08697, receiver only, AMT Lightning receiver markings, 8 - 1/2" bull barrel. (F) G-001197, 6 - 3/8" bull barrel, Arcadia Machine and Tool receiver markings. (G) G-002049, 6 - 3/8" tapered barrel, Arcadia Machine & Tool receiver markings. (H) G-19300, receiver only, AMT Lightning receiver markings, 6 - 3/8" bull barrel with Simmons 2x Scope in weaver rings on grooved receiver. (I) G-09766, complete pistol, 5" bull barrel, AMT Lightning receiver markings. This is the replaced gun, which replaced G-13423 in an identical configuration. (J) G-23578, receiver only, 5" bull barrel, AMT Lightning receiver markings. Pistols are housed in a pair of luggage cases with protective foam and come with additional magazines. Included is an assortment of paperwork, including AMT ads, a pair of manuals, and letters regarding the pistol. Additionally, there are hangtags that have pricing information on the front and a rear note of selling a pistol for $1400 and that a letter would be provided, presumably the missing pistol. This is a rare opportunity to own a set of developmental pistols put together and thoroughly tested by the owner of a company. CONDITION: Fine, with marks from operation, handling, and barrel switches, retaining the majority of finish. Complete pistols operate correctly. Fine bores. Glass is clear. Name Value Accessories 2 Cases, Extra Magazines Barrel Length Varies. See description. Caliber/Bore (ALL) .22 LR FFL Status Modern Manufacturer (ALL) AMT Model (ALL) Lightning Paperwork Serial Number See Description
