A fascinating group of original NASA and Kodak artefacts relating to these important unmanned missions to the Moon and the ground-breaking technology used to photograph the Moon, transmit and recover the images on the Earth. The Lunar Orbiter flights were responsible for photographing and mapping the lunar surface to aid in choosing future manned landing sites and Kodak was contracted to provide the photography solution for these highly successful missions. NASA Press Kit, Release No: 66-286, November 6, 1966. 20.5 x 27 cm (8 x 10½ inches), 49 pages staple-bound, illustrated. Lunar Orbiter C (To be launched no earlier than February 3, 1967). NASA Press Kit, Release No: 66-12, January 31, 196. 20.5 x 27 cm (8 x 10½ inches), 44 pages, staple-bound, illustrated. Lunar Orbiter E (To be launched no earlier than Aug. 1, 1967). NASA Press Kit, Release No: 66-192, July 27, 1966. 20.5 x 27 cm (8 x 10½ inches), 49 pages, staple-bound, illustrated. A set of thirteen indices of photographic coverage for Lunar Orbiter missions 1-5, charting out the photographed areas of the Moon. Prepared under the direction of the Department of Defence by the Aeronautical Chart and Information Centre, United States Air Force for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, February 1968. The charts unfold to the size of 92.5 x 26 cm (36 x 10¼ inches).
