Early 19th-century vellum, sides centered with gilt Devonshire arms, blue glazed endpapers, gilt and marbled edges, light-blue silk ribbon markers (horizontal splits to spines, one slightly defective). Provenance : Baron Holland (red leather gilt booklabel) -- William S. George Cavendish (1790-1858, 6th Duke of Devonshire, binding, Chatsworth bookplate; sold, Christie's, 1 October 1981, lot 268).
