Louis-Maurice Boutet de Monvel (French, 1850-1913)] Vieilles Chansons pour les Petits Enfants avec Accompagnements de Ch. M. Widor, Illustrations par M. B. de Monvel. Plon-Nourrit et Cie., Paris. No date but c. 1920. Hardcover. 10.5"w x 8.75"h. 48 pages plus one page of ads. INSCRIBED by the artist on the half-title to "Mademoiselle Andree Clark" and signed "M Boutet de Monvel." Also gift inscription in French from Andree to her sister Huguette on the front endpaper. The cover of the book adds "et Rondes" to the title, the half-title page instead adds "et Danses" but the title page has neither.
Good, with 1"cut to cloth on front cover at right edge, binding loose, some pages worn at edges, corners bumped, be advised that all lots in this sale will exhibit some degree of wear due to age and/or handling
Estate of Huguette Clark Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington in 1925
