Comprises: "Madame Sherwood, Giant Lady", by Charles Fredericks, New York. * Isaac Sprague (the original thin man). * "James Murphy, the Giant Boy, 18 years old and 8 feet high", New York, 1864. * A fat boy in striped hose. * Chang and Eng Bunker, conjoined twins. * Two female trapeze artists in costume, taken in San Francisco. Together, 6 photographs. Wonderful gathering of mid 19th-century photographs of human oddities. Includes three rather famous individuals, Isaac Sprague who at the time of his marriage and fatherhood reportedly weighed only 57 pounds; and Chang and Eng Bunker, the original "Siamese twins" who toured with P.T. Barnum until 1839. They are depicted in this photograph with two of their sons, between the two of them they fathered 22 children. Lot Amendments Condition: Scattered mild soiling, but overall an excellent group. Item number: 166007
