Second is a 3.5" single-edged steel blade with clipped end, stamped on left face Tarry/Levigne with salamander, 2-piece horn handle with inset mother of pearl; total length open, 7.5", with chain ring on end; closed 4.2". Third is a French example from mid-to-late-19th century with 6" single-edged steel blade with 4" false edge; stamped on left face with salamander and Coupe Du Ranger; acid etched WWI inscription Geande Guerre/1914-NF-16-17-18; walnut handle with locking bar and ring release; total length open 16", closed 7.25".
