This is a lot of two scales. First is a character reading weight scale by the American Scale Mfg. Co., with red porcelain and yellow painted body in original condition. Signs of wear, operating but not accurate and with keys. The second is an early Howe cast-iron and brass scale from the Pittsburgh School district, and so marked on the marquee. Repainted and operative, with height scale as well. A great piece of Pittsburgh history. Circa 1910.
