Lot consists of (A) Pre-World War II 1941 dated USMC 1st pattern rain coat named to several marines inside the collar. The coat retains its original specification stamp that reads "U.S.M.C. / Cable Raincoat Co. / September 3, 1941 / Large". The raincoat is named inside the collar "HF Nelson / Artillery John J. Ritacc / U.S.M.C" as well as "C.M. Doyle" on the interior. The coat remains supple with some stiff areas and fraying particularly around the edges. There are a few minor tears, and the coat is heavily stained. CONDITION: Fair. (B) Early World War II USMC Iceland Marines barnstormer coat. The coat is constructed of 2 layers, an outer layer consisting of heavy cotton, and an inner layer with rubberized backing and a fur liner to protect the wearer from cold weather and rain. The coat is stamped "Quartermaster Dep't / U.S. Marine Corps" in between the two layers on the left pocket. The rubberized liner exhibits various cracks. No fur loss to the interior.
