A) McClellan as Major General, Napoleonic pose, Brady copyright at bottom. CONDITION: very good. Slight stains. Nice tones. B) CDV full standing in frock with cap on pedestal to rear. Trouser stripe indicates NCO. CONDITION: exc. No bm. C) CDV vignette bust view unidentified field officer, major or Lt. Colonel. No bm. CONDITION: very good. A tad light. D) CDV McClellan and wife. CONDITION: exc. Nice tones. E) CDV knees-up view of first sergeant in shell jacket with sash. Signed ink bottom front: F.F. Webster. Likely 10th NYHA, enl. age 25 8/4/62; mustered in private Co. B 8/18/62; promoted 1st Sergt. 9/11/62; 2nd Lt. Co. H 9/30/64; mustered out Petersburg 6/23/65. Lost 47 KIA, most active 1864-65 with 18th and 22nd Corps and Army of the Shenandoah. CONDITION: excellent. F) Uncased sixthplate tintype. Two seated comrades, both in slouch hats, frock coats and light blue tinted trousers. Painted backdrop shows a prominent tinted U.S. flag on pole at center, tree at left, hills in background. CONDITION: Good. Somewhat dark, but ?nice evocation of army comradeship. G) Eighthplate. Standing enlisted man from hips up, shouldering a musket. Wears cap and frock. CONDITION: very good image. Case hinge separated. H) Quarterplate full standing armed infantryman, with rifle, bayonet and accouterments. CONDITION: excellent. Belt plate lightly gilt. Modern notes in back of case that do not help on identification. I) Nice full standing line officer in frock and hat with sword at parade rest. NY bm. Modern pencil note reverse that he might be 37th NY which appears to match hat numerals. J) CDV full standing army line officer showing frock, sword sash. CONDITION: very good. CONDITION: excellent. K) Sixthplate tintype, leatherette case, repaired hinge, waist-up seated enlistedman in open frock coat with military vest and slouch hat. CONDITION: good. Light stains at upper right, narrow dark horizontal line from flaking of backing or emulsion on reverse. L) Sixthplate tintype, leatherette case, repaired hinge. Seated infantryman in cap and frock coat. Trousers tinted light blue. CONDITION: very good. A tad dark, but no emulsion problems. M) (not shown) CDV engraving of Lincoln leaning against a column with painted backdrop. Not a common view. CONDITION: very good. Corners rounded for album insertion.
