The Clans of the Scottish Highlands, illutrated with appropriate figures, displaying their dress, arms, tartans, armorial insignia, and social occupations, London, Ackermann and Co., 1845-47, 2 vols., 2°, first issue, chromolithographed additional title in each vol., dedication printed in black and gold and 72 hand-coloured lithographed plates (printed title in vol. II with 50mm tear repaired with tape, occasional minor spotting and soiling), original green morocco gilt by Kronheim & Skirving, London, the covers decorated with a a border of intertwining plants, claymores and targes enclosing the Royal Arms (rebacked, retaining spines), g.e., in cloth case.
