Contemporary panelled calf in modern clamshell cases. 12 1/4 x 7 3/4 inches (31 x 20 cm); frontispiece, [6], engraved plate, [ii-advertisement], xxviii, 575, [1], [12] pp.; [ii], 671, [1], [16] pp.; [vi], 668, [16] pp. Boards detached, first two leaves of first volume loose, a few stains, generally a clean copy; Together with Two treatises of government: in the former, the false principles and foundation of Sir Robert Filmer, and his followers, are detected and overthrown. The latter is an essay concerning the true original, extent, and end of civil-government. London: printed for Awnsham and John Churchill, 1698. Third edition. Modern black cloth. 7 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches (19 x 12 cm); [6], 358, [2] pp. Bar Association stamp on title, old inscription, accession number neatly penned on title verso, generally a clean, sound copy.
