Low Countries ?, c. 1500 ?, manuscript on vellum, c. 37 x 26 cm, old thoroughly repaired blindruled embossed calf over wood (rebacked), remains of orig. blindstamped covers with lozenge-shaped blindstamped roll expertly pasted on, spine on 4 raised bands, metal central and corner pcs (4 on front cover, 2 fore-edge corner pcs only on lower cover), metal clasps and catches on leather tongues (1 clasp gone), cloth markers, 199 ff. (incl. final blank; some minor traces of use, last ff. soiled and wormed), 4-line staves with neumes, gothic textura in black and red ink. In good condition.
Antiphonary (inc. at beginning) with hymns for various saints (i.a. Michael). With red and blue initials, as well as black initials on a yellow background. Extra-illustrated (19th c.?) with 9 large painted monastical & bible scenes with heavy colours covering partly the orig. text, and with penwork extending into the margin. Later manuscript addition on f. 198r-v.
