One of the great works of literature close to its original tongue (originally Tuscan, which later becoming standard Italian). While most literature of the Middle Ages was written in Latin, Dante chose to write in the vernacular language of his home, Florence. Dante finished his monumental work in 1320, just a year before his death. Condition: Minor wear to the spine, with some flaking of the spine ends. Front outer hinge cracking. Binding generally tight. Internally clean, with no toning and little foxing.
