Description British boxing icon Sir Henry Cooper OBE was famous for the power of his left hook, “Enry’s ‘Ammer“, and his knockdown of a young Muhammad Ali on 18th June 1963. Enry later became friends with The Greatest, who admitted he was hit so hard that fight that “his ancestors in Africa felt it.” Following his retirement from the sport, he continued his career as a television and radio personality and to date remains the only boxer to be awarded a knighthood. The Members of the London Ex-Boxers Association are seeking to raise the funds to erect a statue of Sir Henry Cooper in Bellingham, London, where he grew up. The Statue is intended to celebrate and recognise not only Enry’s boxing career but also his tireless charity work, paying respect and recognition to the man he was: humble, generous and giving. Carl Payne has produced 50 model replicas of the Statue to help raise funds for the statue. The detail of the artist’s work is impressive to say the least and when the 50th one is sold, the mould will be publicly broken, so this truly is a limited edition. With only 11 models left and a reserve of £1,000, this is a unique opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit, give generously and help the London Ex-Boxers Association raise valuable funds for the statue of Sir Henry.
