Group of 4 albums entitled "Photographs from the Union Electric Light and Power Company of Illinois," with a total of 279 photographs depicting the construction of the electrical grid in St. Louis, including power plants from both land and air; workers performing daily duties; interior shots and electrical equipment including sub stations, transformers, and vehicles; posed group portraits of work crews and administrators in suits; diagrams of equipment and the layouts of plants and stations; and detail shots of complicated-looking furnaces, water treatment equipment, and other objects. Silver prints, in sizes ranging from 3 1/2x4 7/8 to 7 3/4x9 5/8 inches (8.9x12.4 to 19.7x24.4 cm.), and the reverse, some with captions in the negative, some with typed captions or handwritten notations, in pencil or ink, on mount verso. Oblong small folios, black leatherette. 1928-47
