Letter from Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneersohn of Lubavitch-Chabad, with his handwritten signature. Brooklyn, Tevet, 1956. Typewritten on the official stationery of the Rebbe, with his handwritten signature. In his letter, the Rebbe expresses his surprise at the results of the elections in the Tze'irei Agudat Chabad organization, and that precisely those who are active in the field were not elected, "The excuse you wrote that they did not originally present their candidacy, and that there are deep politics involved, raises even greater perplexity. But since it has been done already, one should obviously not contest it… the ways of Chassidism are pleasant and peaceful, and not ways of politics and divisiveness". The Rebbe further writes of the correct way to contend with forbidden sights; about the exact time on Shabbat eve when some have the custom not to make Kiddush; on the custom of "Nittel" in Eretz Israel, and more. The last part of the letter was printed in Igrot Kodesh, vol. XII, pp. 226-227. The first part (over half), was not published, and is disclosed here for the first time. [1] leaf. 28 cm. Good condition. Stains. Folding marks.
