Only after the death of Rebbe Mottel Slonimer in 1954, did Rabbi Avraham agree to head the community [when he was already 65 years old]. He then moved to Jerusalem, and led the Chassidic community for 27 years. His son-in-law was Rabbi Shalom Noach Berezovsky, author of "Netivot Shalom" (1911-2000), an outstanding Torah genius, a prominent rebbe of our generation, head of "Mo'etzet Gedolei HaTorah" and "Chinuch Atzma'I". Immigrated from Baranovich to Eretz- Yisrael in 1936 and established the Slonim Chassidic yeshivas in Eretz -Yisrael. Served for 20 years as rebbe of "Slonim Chassidim" and in his times the "Slonim Chassidut" remarkably blossomed. His deep books of Chassidic thought and service of G-d are very well known and many follow their direction.
